JEAN MUIR Ceramics & Glass Jean has been specialising in ceramic sculptural form for many years, She creates small sculptures and relief panels from earthenware clay using a combination of hand building techniques, including coiling, slabing and press moulding. Recently Jean has begun working and experimenting with glass, enhancing her skills and adding to her ability to work with a variety of mediums. Seeking innovative approaches to working with new and different media not only helps her identify and eliminate outdated ways of working, but also to recognise, and focus, on her strengths. Her main source of inspiration stems from images found in nature, she is particularly inspired by the shoreline and often combines textures and colours from this fragile environment within her work.
